We provide thermal comfort ratings, (energy efficiency ratings), for new and existing single dwelling, duplex, townhouse and apartments throughout Australia, with emphasis on ACT & surrounds, Southern Highlands, NSW South Coast, and rural areas, (bush fire prone area BAL requirements may affect assessments).
  • Assessments in compliance with National Construction Code.
  • Assessments modeled using FirstRate 5 accredited software.
  • We are ABSA Accredited.
  • Bound by Code of Practice
  • Continual Professional Developement targets annual requirements.
  • $20mil Professional Indemnity and Liabilty Insurance

NatHERS Certificates

As a NatHERS Acredited Assessor we are able to provide NatHERS Certificates & stamped documentation for DA. The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) provides building energy performance ratings and information to help improve Australian homes. By understanding how energy is used to heat and cool a home, NatHERS helps to make Australian homes more comfortable and helps you to save on energy bills through smarter design choices.

BASIX Certificates (Thermal Comfort Simulation Method)

With NatHERS Acreditation we are able to provide BASIX Certificates (Simulation Method)
  • Complete Thermal Comfort section of BASIX Assessment
  • Provide flexibility in design
  • Identify areas of meaningful improvements
  • Generate BASIX Certificate for DA

Existing dwellings

We provide assessments on existing dwellings with the aim of improving energy effiency (reduce power bills!).
  • Site inspections.
  • Documentation of existing construction, windows, insulation, ect.
  • Council searches for existing documentation, with consent.
  • Create necessary drawings if required
  • Provide assessment report.
  • Consultation regarding opportunities for improvement.
  • Cost estimates of various improvements.

ACT EER Certificate

As a licensed ACT Building Assessor we can provide ACT EER Certificates required by the ACT Building Act.
  • Carry out NAtHERS assessment
  • Issue EER Certificate (if requirements are met).

Consulting & Site Supervision

Energy Assessors use special software to ensure that the building plan is consistent with efficiency measures based on documentation specifying exactly the details of the building.

The problem is that apart from the initial design stage, often there is no further assessment to ensure recommended energy-saving requirements are actually installed, or installed properly. Certifiers do their best but often details of materials specified and Australian Standards for installation are often missed. Examples of this are installations of window, insulation and seals to doors. This has resulted in cases where there have been clear discrepancies between the energy rating listed on paper and the actual energy efficiency for some new homes being built.

So ultimately, because an energy-efficient home potentially costs more, consumers may be paying a premium for something they aren't getting, and anticipating energy savings that aren't occurring.
  • Inspections of waffle pod slabs, slab edge insulation (Climate Zone 8 & where in-slab heating is specified).
  • Inspections for compliance with manufacturers & AS requirements for wall, ceiling and roof building systems. (Note: slab & floor construction systems must coordinate with termite protection requirements).
  • Confirmation of correct R rating and installation of insulation.
  • Confirmation of window specifications & installation.
  • Confirmation of weather seals to all ecternal doors.
  • Inspection of ceiling penetrations & how they are dealt with, e.g. dampers on exhaust fans, IC 4 rated down lights, (if specified), etc.
